< CBI Instructor Advocates for Voting Rights - Crossroads Ministerio Carcelario

Voting BoothsIn a new article published at the Boston Review, Myrna Pérez, CBI Instructor and Deputy Director at the Brennan Center for Justice at the New York University of Law, draws out the implications of a recent Supreme Court ruling that will impact voting rights.

By making it easier for states to pass laws that restrict the rights of minorities and returning citizens, these changes will directly affect CBI students who are striving for successful reentry back into society.

Crossroad Bible Institute encourages people of faith to take seriously the Bible’s call to bring justice to the least among us. Ms. Pérez, who has long been an advocate for voting-rights related issues, will be coming to CBI in October to lecture on the issue of restoring voting rights for the disenfranchised. All are welcome to attend.
