< Earthquake Hits India, CBI Team Safe - Crossroads Ministerio Carcelario

vashaA 6.7 magnitude earthquake hit northeast India early Monday, about eighteen miles northwest of Imphal, where Crossroad Bible Institute’s satellite office is based.

CBI India director Mathotmi Vasha, his family and his CBI team are safe, he confirmed in an email Monday.

“But there are many people suffering due to loss of houses and property,” Vasha said. The quake left at least nine dead, according to a BBC report.

CBI India was established in 2012 and since then Vasha has led ministry efforts at Sajiwa Central Jail in Imphal. Vasha and his team have celebrated dozens of baptisms in the past several years of fruitful ministry. Please be praying for the people of India as they recover from the devastating earthquake and for the CBI India team as they continue to share the hope of the Gospel in this area.
